This medication is an experimental injectable created by US drugmaker Eli Lilly. The drug targets three gut hormones – glucagon-like peptide-1, glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide and pancreatic hormone. Early trials suggest it could assist patients lose up to a quarter of their body weight. Referred to as the “triple G”, the substance is being promoted online as the next Ozempic.

Typing “retatrutide” instantly displays channels with thousands of users, filled with photos of weight loss, positive reviews and step-by-step instructions for preparing or administering at residence.

After moments of entering one community, a vendor posted contact information, where most purchases take place. The seller sent an instruction manual and guaranteed delivery within 48 hours. When questioned whether the product was genuine, one seller responded: “You can’t be sure.” Another shared a image of a supposed testing documentation. None asked about weight, health issues or previous experience.

Within these groups, posts show black plastic packages with postal service stickers, claiming to include new batches. One communication stated: “It took eight of us to load them this morning.”

Buyers can select between powder vials, prepared at residence with sterile water, or ready-to-use injectors typically sold at 160 pounds for 20 milligrams. When questioned how long a pen should be used, sellers give conflicting answers varying between a several days to “depends on your body”.

A spokesperson for Telegram said it regularly monitored dangerous material on its service including material that encouraged the “misuse of controlled medications”. The organization added that it eliminated “millions of pieces of harmful content each day”.
