Red Bull has revealed significant changes for the 2026 Formula 1 season, moving up French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his first F1 drive. The young driver, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the second team VCARB. These changes means Japan's Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1. A Star in the Making Arvid Lindblad took part in first practice for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix this year. Lindblad has been identified as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Regarding the company's junior academy, a senior Red Bull figure previously said that Lindblad "looks really promising", praising his "pure speed". Red Bull has been working for some time to prepare Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, including appearances in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City. The rookie said it was a "proud moment", adding: "Next season represents a massive test, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I am incredibly excited to get started." He has won two races in F2 so far this season and is sixth in the championship ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman's Chance Isack Hadjar enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, secured at the Dutch Grand Prix in August. The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has emerged as one of the most impressive rookies of the year. His performances featured an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies in tenth place in the championship. The team principal said: "Hadjar has displayed great maturity and demonstrated to be a fast adapter. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can thrive next to Max." The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared". The Lawson Decision For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have chosen Lawson instead of Tsunoda. The New Zealander started 2025 with the senior squad but was moved back early in the year. He has settled back in at Racing Bulls with notable results, convincing Red Bull he merits another season. Tsunoda, meanwhile, loses his place after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a P6, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's points total. These announcements mean that there is also no place on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 next season.
