The Gunners' boss remains confident that his team can persist in handling with player absences after revealing that attacker Kai Havertz remains out for a few more weeks.

Prolonged Recovery for Havertz

Havertz has been out since the summer due to knee surgery. Initially expected to be available sooner, Arteta revealed the player hit a snag when stepping up his rehabilitation and could not progress “the required stage.”

“Our experience helped us build a squad that is much more reliable and has increased versatility,” commented Arteta.

Selection Dilemma for Midweek Fixture

This news presents a dilemma for the midweek match against Brentford. A decision is required between persisting with Mikel Merino, who found the net playing out of position on Sunday, or reinstating Viktor Gyökeres, who made a return off the bench off the bench. Fitness Doubts Remain

“Our previous experiences taught us that we have to use players in various roles, and they must be capable to fulfil different roles if we are to fight at the highest level. And the instance of Mikel is just the best one.”

Commenting on the setback highlighted by Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann, Arteta offered more insight. “His recovery was progressing. He failed to advance to the next level and now it’s looking like we have unlocked that.”

He shared his personal desire to see him return. “The team is keen to have him. Truly, he is a footballer who, in my view, I love so much for his contributions to the team, but his personality, his attitude. I observe his frustration being outside.”
