An extensive 60-day cruise around the Australian Coast is being halted days after the tragic passing of an elderly female passenger who was abandoned by the vessel on a distant coastal location.

Suzanne Rees had been walking on the remote island with other travelers from the vessel, but broke off from the group for a rest. The ship left without her and came back several hours later after the crew became aware the woman was not present.

An extensive rescue mission found her remains the subsequent day.
