“That was unfortunate. It was kind of an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “Present was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, our fans. The whole venue was filled with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”

Jones additionally clarified that the gesture was entirely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply showed the wrong digit,” he remarked. “The action was inadvertently done. This is sincere. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected pretty quick.”
